The Duchess of Cornwall visits Westonbirt Arboretum

The Duchess of Cornwall today visited Westonbirt Arboretum to hear about the conservation and education taking place there.
The gardens are famous at this time of year for their vibrant display of Autumn colours. During her visit today, The Duchess took in the seasonal views from the Treetop Walkway, which has been built since Her Royal Highness's last visit six years ago.
On her walk around the National Arboretum, The Duchess had the chance to say hello to staff and fellow visitors. Her Royal Highness also saw activities taking place at the Woodland Community Hub, where programmes are on offer to support people with mental health difficulties or early stage dementia.
Westonbirt is home to the national collection of Maples and Japanese Maple Cultivars. Started in the early 1980s, today the collection contains around 297 different types of cultivar, including some of the finest specimens in the UK. In 2006, The Prince and The Duchess planted a tree in the newly established Maple Loop.
