The Duchess of Cornwall visits Maggie's Barts
Published
The Duchess of Cornwall today visited Maggie's Barts at St Bartholomew’s Hospital, where she met centre visitors and families who have been supported by the charity, as well as cancer specialists and staff.
Across their 26 cancer centres, Maggie's provide free practical and emotional support for people with cancer, as well as family and friends.
The Duchess toured the facilities and learnt how the charity have adapted their services during Covid-19 through its online community, over the phone and email.
Earlier this year, Her Royal Highness wrote a message of support to Maggie's centres:
At this difficult time, I wanted to send a brief message to the whole Maggie’s family, to say that I am thinking of you all. It is hard to imagine how the difficulties of living with cancer are compounded by the current situation, but I am sure that you are all rising to the challenge with your usual grace, determination and good humour. I am already looking forward to my next visit to one of your wonderful Centres – but, in the meantime, please take good care of yourselves and know that your President is immensely proud of everything that Maggie’s stands for.
