The Duchess of Cornwall visits the 5 Rifles
Published
The Duchess of Cornwall today met Riflemen and their families during a visit to 5th Battalion The Rifles in Wiltshire. It was Her Royal Highness's first visit to The Rifles following her appointment as Colonel-in-Chief in July last year.
The 5 RIFLES have recently returned from a deployment to Estonia. This group were instrumental in the success of the Battalion in Estonia, providing unwavering support.
The Duchess also presented Riflemen with Long Service and Good Conduct medals and thanked them for their service.
The Rifles was formed in 2007 through the merger of four Regiments. In July 2020, The Duchess of Cornwall succeeded The Duke of Edinburgh as Colonel-in-Chief during ceremonies held at Windsor Castle and Highgrove House. Today Her Royal Highness spoke to Riflemen who were at The Duke’s funeral and formed part of the Guard of Honour at Windsor Castle.
