This afternoon, The Duchess of Edinburgh carried out a number of engagements in Wiltshire.
Her Royal Highness first visited the Gul Outdoor Therapy Centre. Founded in 2003 by a small church community, the charity provides outdoor therapeutic activities, including Equine Facilitated Interventions (using horses and associated activities to improve well-being) as well as outdoor education, navigation, work placements, apprenticeships, gardening and more.
The Duchess toured the Riverside site and met young people and adults who are beneficiaries of the charity’s work.
Later at Salisbury Guildhall, The Duchess was welcomed by schoolchildren, residents, and visitors of the local community. The special visit celebrated the multi faith community of Salisbury, The Mayor of Salisbury’s installation as Salisbury’s first Bangladeshi Mayor and the continuation of his theme for the year of bringing the community together for the benefit of everyone.
Her Royal Highness unveiled a plaque on a tree, which will be planted in the Autumn at Queen Elizabeth Gardens.
At Stable and Wick Bakery and Farm Shop, a business which originated which originated during Covid-19, The Duchess met staff and toured the facility.
Her Royal Highness had the opportunity to hear how agriculture, farming and environmental stewardship is working and meeting local community needs.
