The Great Yorkshire Show

The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall toured the Great Yorkshire Show today in Harrogate, North Yorkshire.
The Show features the best of British farming and gives the public first-hand experience of agriculture and rural life through demonstrations, exhibitions and competitions from show jumping to sheep shearing.
Their Royal Highnesses toured the different areas, including the livestock section and children’s education zone.
The Prince, as Patron of the Rare Breeds Survival Trust, saw rare breed cattle and met farmers.
His Royal Highness also joined The Prince’s Countryside Fund at an event to launch a new guide for farmers to help them go green. The guide aims to demystify some of the jargon which surrounds environmental agriculture methods.
In a speech, The Prince said: “It is unhelpful that many terms used to describe environmental processes are somewhat obscure and off-putting.”
“Once we all understood what we need to do, of course the next step is to go on and do it.”
