As The Prince of Wales celebrates 70 years as Duke of Cornwall, His Royal Highness and The Duchess of Cornwall today attended the Royal Cornwall Show.
The Duke has been Patron of the Royal Cornwall Agricultural Association (RCAA) since 2002, and The Duchess has been the show’s Vice-President since 2011.
The Royal Cornwall Show is an annual celebration of the very best in Cornish agriculture, food and heritage, and has been running since 1793. This year, the three-day show attracted around 120,000 visitors, after 3 years away due to the pandemic.
Their Royal Highnesses started their tour in the Food and Farming Pavilion - The Duke and The Duchess enjoyed tasting samples of everything from ice cream to fresh loaves of bread to local honey and more!
At The Duchy of Cornwall exhibition, The Duke saw a showcase of work undertaken on the estate. This years’ display provided information about the vision of ‘Sustainable Stewardship’ and introduced some of the exciting projects underway across the Duchy.
Meanwhile, Her Royal Highness took time to visit the Dog Show and the Flower Tent, before visiting the Cornwall Air Ambulance Trust, of which she has been Patron since 2011.
At the Main Ring, Their Royal Highnesses reunited to watch a parade of cattle, sheep and goats before presenting the Livestock Inter-Breed Championship trophies.
