The King and Queen this morning presented The Queen Elizabeth Prizes for Higher and Further Education at St. James's Palace at which The Princess Royal and The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester were present, and afterwards Their Majesties, accompanied by Their Royal Highnesses, held a Reception.

Dame Melinda Simmons was received in audience by The King this afternoon and kissed hands upon her appointment as His Majesty's Ambassador to the Republic of Poland.

Later, the Rt. Hon. Sir Keir Starmer MP (Prime Minister and First Lord of the Treasury) had an audience of The King.

The King was represented by Lieutenant General Sir Benjamin Bathurst (Governor of Gibraltar) at the Memorial Service for Field Marshal the Lord Guthrie of Craigiebank (former Chief of the General Staff and Chief of the Defence Staff) which was held at the Guards Chapel, Wellington Barracks, Birdcage Walk, London SW1, this afternoon.

The Queen was represented by Lieutenant General Sir James Bucknall.

The Prince of Wales was represented by Mr. James Lowther-Pinkerton.

The Princess Royal was represented by Brigadier Andrew Parker Bowles.

St. James's Palace

The Princess Royal, Royal Patron, Hearing Dogs for Deaf People, this afternoon held a Reception for Trustees, Volunteers, and Members of Staff at Frogmore House, Windsor Home Park.

St. James's Palace

The Duke of Edinburgh, Chairman, The Duke of Edinburgh's International Award Foundation, this afternoon held a Luncheon at St. James's Palace.

The Duchess of Edinburgh this afternoon arrived at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, Nairobi, Kenya, and was received by Dr. Edward Barnett (Chargé d'Affaires, British High Commission, Nairobi), having completed a two day visit to Somalia, accompanied by Mr. Samuel Thomas (Chargé d'Affaires, British Embassy, Mogadishu), during which Her Royal Highness called upon The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia and met survivors of conflict-related sexual violence.

The Duchess of Edinburgh this evening attended a Dinner for representatives of Kenyan and United Nations civil society at the Residence of the British High Commissioner to the Republic of Kenya in Nairobi.

Buckingham Palace

The Queen, having been received by His Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant of East Sussex (Mr. Andrew Blackman), this afternoon attended a Charity Race Day at Plumpton Racecourse, Plumpton, in support of Jamie's Farm, of which Her Majesty is Patron.

The Queen later received Madame Gisèle Pelicot (Author) at Clarence House.

St. James's Palace

The Princess Royal, Past Master, the Worshipful Company of Butchers, accompanied by Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, this evening attended the Annual City Food and Drink Lecture at Guildhall, Gresham Street, London EC2.

Kensington Palace

The Duchess of Gloucester, Royal Colonel, 7th Battalion The Rifles, today received Lieutenant Colonel Guy Lock upon relinquishing his appointment as Commanding Officer and Lieutenant Colonel Michael Hrycak upon assuming the appointment.

Captain Benedict Maciejewski (Adjutant) was present.
