HMS SUTHERLAND was berthed at Thames Quay in London for the visit from The Queen, who is Head of the Armed Services.
The Ship recently completed a six-week operational 'work up' in preparation for deployment next year.
Her Majesty was shown around the Ship by Commander Canale, who was previously her Equerry. Equerries serve for two years, rotating through each of the Armed Services.
Her Majesty is no stranger to Naval life, having lived in Malta before she became Queen when Prince Philip was posted as the first lieutenant of the destroyer HMS Chequers.
