His Majesty then witnessed three UK initiatives designed to educate future generations, accompanied by Manfred, who is amongst the survivors to share their experiences to ensure the memory of the Holocaust lives on.

The King visited a display of candleholders created as part of the '80 Candles for 80 Years' nationwide project by the Holocaust Memorial Day Trust. Eighty bespoke candleholders were created by groups across the UK to highlight the life of an individual or community persecuted by the Nazis.

His Majesty lit a candle in memory of those killed in the Holocaust and more recent genocides.

The King also viewed a demonstration of 'Testimony 360: People and Places of the Holocaust', a new digital education programme in schools by the Holocaust Educational Trust, which uses AI-powered and virtual reality technology to allow students to ask Holocaust survivors about their experiences and see sites of the Holocaust as they exist today.

Finally, His Majesty watched a short performance from 'Echo Eternal', a commemorative arts and community engagement project led by CORE Education Trust in partnership with The National Youth Music Theatre, which invites schools and youth organisations to create artistic responses to the testimonies of British Holocaust Survivors.

The King, when he was The Prince of Wales, commissioned seven artists to paint portraits of seven Holocaust survivors, in a tribute to their passing generation. These portraits were on display during the event, including Manfred's.
