The Royal Family thank volunteers and key workers at Christmas

The Royal Party - briefly reunited outside under social distancing guidelines - enjoyed the festive tunes before meeting Anthony and Gillian Cotterill – the Territorial leaders of The Salvation Army in the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland. 

The Queen thanked the band for their performance, as well as for the wider work of the Salvation Army during the pandemic and over the Christmas period.

Their Royal Highnesses The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, The Earl and Countess of Wessex and The Princess Royal welcomed a number of local volunteers and key workers from organisations and charities in Berkshire, who will be volunteering or working to help others over the Christmas period.

Windsor Castle is the final stop on The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s tour of England, Scotland and Wales by Royal Train, during which Their Royal Highnesses have paid tribute to the work of individuals and organisations in response to the coronavirus pandemic.
