The Queen visits the Lexicon Shopping Centre, Bracknell.

The Lexicon represents one of the biggest town centre regenerations in the UK. In addition to 70 new shops and restaurants, improvements have also been made to the existing High Street buildings and local landmark, The Bull Public House, has been restored and extended.

During the visit, The Queen toured the new development and met town planners, architects, builders and council representatives who had been involved in the Bracknell town development project, before greeting hundreds of well-wishers who had come out to welcome her to Bracknell. 

The Queen also paid a visit to Fenwick department store where she met store directors and management teams from British High Street retailers.

It was hats and handbags galore as The Queen viewed displays of British merchandise and spoke to shop assistants.

At the end of the tour Her Majesty heard music from the Berkshire Maestros Band and unveiled a plaque to commemorate this special day for Bracknell.
