The Duke and Duchess of Rothesay visit Scotland

Outfit Moray, Burghead
The Duke and Duchess of Rothesay have visited Scotland where they met organisations supporting rural communities in Moray and Inverness. Their Royal Highnesses visited organisations that are working with young people to support their mental health through improved access to the outdoors and practical learning opportunities.
First The Duke and Duchess visited Outfit Moray, an award-winning charity delivering life-changing outdoor learning and adventure activity programmes to young people in Moray.
Outfit Moray aims to make a difference to the lives of others by actively developing the potential of young people through accessible and affordable outdoor learning and adventure, encouraging life skills and improving physical and mental health. It focuses on supporting those from 8-to-18-years-old who are vulnerable or disadvantaged in some way and has worked with over 16,000 young people since its creation in 2003.
The charity runs a large range of activities designed to build confidence, self-esteem and resilience including mountain biking, paddle sports, rock climbing, archery, and bushcraft.
Their Royal Highnesses joined the Outfit Moray team at Burghead Primary School to take part in a mountain bike session and meet some of the young people who have been helped by the charity.
Brodieshill Farm, Moray
The Duke and Duchess then travelled to family-run Brodieshill Farm where they learnt about efforts being made to better support the mental health and wellbeing of young people. There they met members of the Lower Speyside Young Farmers as well as representatives from Farmstrong Scotland, which are both working to promote positive mental wellbeing in rural communities across Scotland and support local farmers.
Lower Speyside Young Farmers is run for young people from any background from the ages of 14 - 29 across the local area and provides opportunities for socialising and interaction in what can sometimes be an isolating environment.
Whilst at the farm, Their Royal Highnesses met families who attend regular sessions at the farm’s dedicated play area. Developed to provide a space for young children to explore and learn, Brodieshill offers an indoor and outdoor area for child-led play where families, including those based at nearby RAF Lossiemouth and at the 39 Engineer Regiment at Kinloss, can focus and reconnect with their children, and get together regularly as a group.
DAY1, Inverness
Finally, The Duke and Duchess visited DAY1, a Highland based charity which provides mentoring, training, personal development and employability services to vulnerable young people.
DAY1 aims to equip its young people with the social and emotional skills to succeed in life through mentoring and personal development programmes.
The charity also owns and runs the social enterprise, Inverness Kart Raceway, which serves as the location for its apprenticeship scheme in Automotive Skills.
The Duke and Duchess toured the site and met a group of young people who are involved in some of these programmes, before visiting the two automotive workshops onsite where young people are being taught mechanical skills and see a group of young people taking part in a race on the track.
